MEETING OF VETERANS IN PI-No.1 IN HONOR OF VICTORY DAY
20 May 2019
In order to maintain the history and traditions of PI-No.1 on the 16th of May, 2019 the annual meeting of veterans-ex-employees of the Institute dedicated to the 74th anniversary of the USSR Victory in the Great Patriotic war was held. The event was attended by veterans who previously worked at the Project Development Institute No.1.
At the beginning of the meeting, veterans and employees of the Institute visited the People's Museum of culture and art of the besieged Leningrad “And the muses were not silent…”, opened in 1968 at the secondary school № 235 with in-depth study of subjects of artistic and aesthetic cycle named after D.D. Shostakovich (more about the Museum here: http://mbmus.narod.ru/).
The participants of the tour were deeply impressed by the history of culture and art workers during the siege of Leningrad, their selfless work, struggle and will to win. On the 4 floors of the Museum a huge number of exhibits are collected; there is no exhibition in the city so fully and in detail telling about the moral life of the besieged Leningrad, about its huge creative potential, demanded by the inhabitants during the War, about the people of art, about the tragic fate of Leningrad.
In the second part of the event in the cafe of the PI-No.1 there was a musical meeting: invited musicians (vocalist and pianist) performed songs of the War years and famous songs of the 70s and 80s.
Representatives of PI-No.1 management and organizers of the meeting expressed their gratitude and respect for the veterans for their many years of work and dedicated struggle for the Motherland, work on the labor front, for the restoration of the country after the War, for the formation and development of the Institute as an expert in the design industry.
The annual meeting of veterans of the Institute was traditionally held in the warm and friendly atmosphere with the delicious treats from the Chef and favorite music.
